Dear Patriot,
Campaign energy in Tennessee has now transitioned from the Presidential primary to the primaries for state and federal offices and as such, the Zach Poskevich for U.S. Senate campaign is getting into full swing with a 95 Tennessee county tour.
Poskevich, a Hendersonville businessman and U.S. Army Veteran, who is running for the seat now held by Senator Bob Corker, has shown the staying power necessary to challenge the status quo in Washington. Over the last 6 months Zach has won straw poll after straw poll across the state.
As a veteran, Zach knows what it means to sacrifice in service of his country and believes strongly in the Constitution he swore to defend. Zach Poskevich knows that our country cannot continue to compromise what we believe in and still be successful.
Here are just a few of the items where Mr. Poskevich and Mr. Corker differ.
• Debt Limit Increases – Senator Corker has voted to increase the debt limit
• Amtrak transportation rail system – Senator Corker voted to subsidizing the rail systems at the rate of 1.9 billion per month.
• TARP - Senator Corker voted to authorize the Treasury Department to use $700 billion dollars of taxpayer money to bail-out the banks and other financial institutions?
• Failed stimulus programs - Senator Corker voted to spend billions of tax payer dollars on failed programs to stimulate the economy like the “Cash for Clunkers” program?
Zach Poskevich also believes in being firm in what is right. Senator Corker now says we should repeal the Dodd-Frank Act. However, in 2010, Senator Corker was a bi-partisan supporter of the bill, and he helped draft the portion that allowed failing financial institutions to liquidate assets without going through bankruptcy. That is a luxury you and I will never have. It is disingenuous to pass a law, only to claim opposition to it later. We deserve better.
I am not asking you to blindly support Zach Poskevich, or any candidate. I do encourage you to come to a tour stop in your area and to invite others who are concerned about our country as well. If you and others would like additional information please visit: http://www.zach4senate.com/.
